
The LPA-52 Programmable Thermosel Set is mandatory in order to comply with AASHTO T 316 and ASTM D4402 requirements. Units are supplied with a lab stand, RTD temperature probe, spindle guard leg, PG flash software, flash drive, and carrying case. Each instrument saves all test data internally, or to a flash drive in Excel format for export, analysis, or graphing. USB PC interface provides optional computer control and automatic data gathering capability using Rheocalc T software, purchased separately.Ī touch screen displays viscosity in cP or mPa/s, temperature in ☌ or ☏, shear rate and shear stress in dynes/cm², percent torque, spindle number and speed, and step program status.

User instructions with multi-step test protocols can be created with the new PG flash software and uploaded to the Viscometer via included USB flash drive.

The new user interface provides enhanced security with customizable user levels, date/time stamp files, and password access. Built-in RTD probes accurately monitor sample temperature and the auto range feature shows maximum viscosity measured with any spindle/speed combination.

Powerful programming capabilities include data averaging, results analysis, QC limits, and on screen data comparison, all performed directly on the screen. Both systems measure viscosities from 100cP to 40 million cP, are accurate to ☑% and reproducible to ☐.2%. The units measure at sample temperatures from 9°-260☌ (40°-500☏) and are compatible with a variety of spindles. Each advanced model characterizes asphalt binder products and develops temperature/viscosity charts to estimate mixing and compaction temperatures in hot-mix design.
